Woodhill Park Research Retreat

Welcome to Woodhill Park Retreat.

Haere mai, haere mai, haere mai.
Welcome, welcome, welcome.

This website is under constant construction, up-dating and revision which means it is never ever quite complete.  However, even though the site is in a state of continuous flux, it introduces you to the Woodhill Park Research Retreat and to some of the suite of activities and services that are sponsored through the retreat.  It also provides you with access to a number of academic resources that can be downloaded for free so that you can progress your research and academic studies.  Importantly, it also tells visitors about pending activities which are to be held at the retreat.

The Woodhill Park Retreat is unique because it is the only academic home-stay in New Zealand.  The Retreat was developed by Dr. Jens and Jenny Hansen expressly for the purposes of nurturing, supporting, and enabling scholars, researchers, writers, academics and students from all disciplines to progress their work.  Set on six and a half acres in Waimauku, the lovely old house has seven available bedrooms three bathrooms, two kitchens, a well appointed teaching and learning facility and a number of break-out spaces.  Why not have a look at our gallery to see more photos of the retreat?

The retreat is only half an hour by car from down-town Auckland. (Click here for a printable PDF on how to get there or, for a Google Map Link, click here and then type in our address.)  It's situated close to Muriwai Beach and the Parakai Hot Springs as well as the ever popular Woodhill Forest.  Close by too, are a number of well known vineyards and there are a range of coffee shops and restaurants.

Please feel free to contact us if you want to talk to us about any of the matters that you encounter within these pages or if you want to find out more about activities, events and services.  You may even want to work with us so that we can co-construct learning, research and development activities which address your needs and/or those of your organisation.
