We have over the years enjoyed the successes of the many students with whom we've worked and we've also, over time, developed a range of strong skills which can help thesis candidates nudge their way towards success.  For that reason, we're running a one day workshop for beginning thesis writers on Friday February 19th (2010).  The workshop will be held at the Woodhill Park Retreat and will be open to only ten thesis candidates (although supervisors may attend for free).

A feature of the day is that a number of people who have worked with us will mix and mingle during the afternoon so that 'newbies' can learn first hand about the experiences of 'thesis-hardened' veterans.  I have to say that we've enjoyed some outstanding successes of late as earlier blogs have demonstrated:  Peter McClenaghan from the UNE was granted his doctorate after being co-supervised by Jens; Lyn Lavery lived at the Woodhill Park Retreat whilst she wrote up the final version of her doctoral thesis for the University of Auckland; Simon Martin and Jacinta Hawkins each enjoyed successes with doctoral studies through Massey and Philip Harkness had today learned of his acceptance for the award (subject to minimal tweaking of typos) and Dennis Paglinawan told me two days ago that he has submitted his PhD.

Waiting in the wings and scheduled to finish her PhD this year is Chris Jenkin from AUT and Jo Perry will submit her AUT EdD later this year.  At the same time, there have been a number of masters thesis successes  and gradually, as we've become more experienced, we've been able to develop an ever improving range of supervision and mentoring skills.  That's why we're going to be facilitating this one day workshop.  To find out more, contact Jens at +64 9 411 7703.
